About the Department
The Department of Civil Engineering at Thanthai Periyar Government Institute of Technology (TPGIT), Vellore, is a distinguished government institution in Tamil Nadu, located at Bagayam.
Established in 1990 and reintroduced in 2004–2005 with 60 intake, the department is known for quality technical education serving rural and semi-urban students.
Affiliated to Anna University, Chennai, the department follows its curriculum and is supported by TRB-qualified faculty with strong academic and field expertise.
The department has well-equipped laboratories aligned with modern standards and is NBA accredited. It also offers M.E. Structural Engineering (2022–2023) with 18 intake.
